So the A/C in the 00 GP is giving me a weird issue. I turn the A/C on and compressor clicks on, passenger side vent and passenger side center vent get icy cold, but the other 3 barely get cold at all. This improves only slightly as I drive and become just slightly cool. Heat seems to work, fan speed, air direction etc. I'm guessing something to do with blend doors not doing what they are suppose to. Anyone else have a similar problem before?

Before you do anything, you will want to check the pressures in the a/c system. IT is usually best to check the low side, and the high side pressures, at the same time, as this will tell you if the a/c system is working properly or not, or if just low on refrigerant.

What you described, mine does exactly the same, this is how I now I need to squirt a little refrigerant in mine. I get a can (32oz) at the auto parts store that has the little gauge and trigger on it. When I put it on and check it, its usually is about 20psi on the low side (valve on fire wall) when the driver side only blows "cool" and the pass. is side is ice cold. I put enough in to bring up to about 23 psi and then it is comfortable again. The system has 192,000 miles on it!

If you a/c system pressures are normal, then you will have to start checking something else like the blend doors and such.

Yep, my 00 GT is doing this as well. I've been through 90% of the system and can't figure it out. I don't have dual zone HVAC either so I know its not a blend door. Gonna get it to a shop and have them check it out. I'm tired of messing with it.

Likely just low on refrigerant. Leaky. I have to top mine off every now and then. It's always colder on the pass side because when it's low on refrigerant it doesn't have enough to cool the whole coil, so it's warm before it flashes off on the driver side of the coil. Or something like that. When it's 90+° out it takes 10-15 minutes of driving before my driver vents are cold. Just not motivated enough to top it off right now.

My 97 GTP is doing exactly this and the cooling capacity went majorly down. Previous owner had it charged 15 months ago with dye, and the compressor is green coloured. My AC manifold shows low refrigerant. I know the seals are shot in the compressor now, and as I have two other cars with A/C I'll use one of the other ones on super hot days.

I'd hazard a guess to why this happens - when low on refrigerant cooling only happens on one side of the evaporator. So the cooling effect will feel different side-to-side because the airflow is not split evenly due to turbulence.

Okay so today i drove it, used the AC all the way home and by the time i got home it was decently cold on the drivers side, but took forever. But when i start it up its warm air for a least a few mins before it starts to cool slightly and then by my 20-25 min drive it was cold when i got home. Through the AC pro with a gauge on and it was just under 25 psi, added a little anyway to about 30, but with no effect on the temp of the ac. Idk how accurate those things are, but still, i'm confused.

You need a manifold gauge set that will show the high side and low side. Then go from there. Sure, it could be low but you will have no idea if it's just that or if there is another issue causing it. If you overcharge the system then it works even less.
