I just picked up a used set of SLP headers for my '06 GT. They're in decent condition, no cracks or dents, but the coating is coming off in a few areas. My question would be if anyone has experience in wrapping headers on a W-Body or if I should just have them sand blasted and ceramic coated again.

    Cheers

Coat them .. wrapping will be a lot of work and not do much to help underhood temps.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Sounds like typical SLP headers. I bought mine used years ago from a fellow member on a different GP board. They had the coating pealing. He gave me a copy of his receipt. I send them into SLP and got a brand new set under warranty (only cost shipping). After a couple years the coating on the new ones went away as well. Not worth wrapping these headers I would imagine that being a real b*tch on a transverse application, but you will want the header wrap for that ticking SLP flex-pipe...or better yet have a better replacement one welded in before the install.

Thanks for the tip. I went the super cheap route and just used VHT header paint on them...not ideal but figuring that no matter what they'll probably end up peeling, I didn't see much point in spending too much coating them
