    I have a 2005 (Comp G)
    3.8 supercharged
But my engine is going, it has a knock
    I found a 3.8 supercharged engine, but it's a 2007
Can I just swap engines without having any issues, or do i have to swap other things from the 2007 to my car

If the 07 engine is complete, I would say just keep the 05 engine while you're doing the swap, but there wasn't any change in L32s between 04-07 mechanically...

There might be a few different plugs on sensors, but that's it. Once the new engine is in the car and running fine, you won't need the 05 engine anymore.

I might be interested in some of the parts off the old engine, if you're willing...

    Nice, thanks
Let me see how it goes, I was thinking to maybe rebuild the engine on my 2005 while is out
Wasn't thinking of junking the engine
But I will let you know
Hopefully I can start on it this weekend

You've been on here a while, you should know what happens if you don't have the block machined properly... At least I hope you've seen the term "500 mile rebuild" on here. Repeatedly.

If you've got a damn good machine shop that knows 3800s, more power to ya, but as you probably already know it's much cheaper and less work to find a junkyard short block, rather than try and have a machine shop line-hone all of the mains and everything else, deck and surface everything, etc...

All sensors and connectors should be identical. If you use the how to swap an engine in the how to section the only thing that is much different is the diff to engine bracket looks different and it attaches to the oil pan vs engine. Nothing material to talk about though.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
