Ok, i know this is a long shot, but I made another fatefull trip to the junkyard today and found a gem. 1997 GTP with all sorts of mods and upgrades that I can see. Borla ss exhaust, thrasher CAI, eagle rims, custom hood, and the list goes on. Basically, before I invest time in tearing into the engine, I want to see if it is modded at all?

The biggest tragedy is the hood. I'm going to assume that fiberglass like this can't be repaired easily, and even if it's possible to salvage, it'll be more expensive then just buying a new hood, but if I'm wrong, let me know asap since I can get it cheap!

    The vin number is 1G2WP1216VF30Z084.

Either way, I still snagged some cool upgrades! RIP Poor gtp

That looks like a PFYC SD Ram Air hood to me. New they go for around $730 shipped if this is the same hood. Doesn't take into account fitting to the car and prep/paint.

For a little perspective I just got my used aftermarket hood repainted to match my GP and the total was $378 installed, BUT there was no fiberglass work needed before the paint, just a color change and install on the car. The last bare fiberglass aftermarket hood I had done cost me about $1,200 by the time it was all said and done.

Indoor yard ? Nice, I've never had the privilege. Beats trudging through stanky puddles & kneeling in mud. Some JY taxi's I've been in include a pos Toyota w/no brakes or clutch [start & stop in gear], and a bread truck with an upside down steering box [turn left, go right] lol.
For the record : I am NOT a naked meth-head who shoves rocks up my butt.

Lol yeah. Pick -n- pull is my friend! Never seen a car there over three months! They even put down gravel for the outside section!

And thanks for the insight on the hood. That's what I was assuming, but you never know. I wish I had enough money to buy the engine. If you trust the odometer, it only has 97,000!
