Picked up a strut tower bar from the yard for $8 off a 3400 Monte Carlo. It has an bend in it to accommodate the alternator in the 3400's. Would this throw off anything if I installed it or should I just wait for a straight bar? It bolt pattern doesn't look uneven on the top of the strut towers.

    example.

Sell it to someone with a GXP, they're always looking for those. Or offer it in trade for a straight STB.

If it fits on your GTP and doesn't hit anything in the engine bay or the hood, I don't see an issue with using it.

But you might get someone who really wants one and can't find it themselves, maybe work out a deal with them to get a straight one.

I'll keep that in mind if anyone needs one. Installed it pretty much 2 minutes after your post. The thing is beefy!

Done and Done. Need new struts!!! I did go back outside and put the cover over the fuse box after seeing the picture. I also installed the two piece cowl from my old car. I am awaiting the water deflector and cabin air filter from Amazon.

If you needed the deflector and filter, I imagine it all got wet? Cabin filters that get soaked turn into ugly mold and mildew farms. You might want to shop vac out the cavity, then spray down the inside with Lysol or the like. Test run your fan and listen for anything that may have fallen down in, before you button it up.

I like the Monte strut bar because accessing the PS reservoir is still possible with it installed.
