I'll get the proper socket before trying tomorrow. Could it possibly be a case relearn thing? I've seen some people relating the two, doesn't seem likely, but I'd like to try the easy stuff first.

if you dont have a code set for needing a crank learn it should not be that, but, having one done cant hurt. my car seemed to idle a bit better after doing it for the hell of it.
your aeroforce can do it.
when i changed my plugs on my pile of a van i took the front bolts out of the sub frame and lowered it to role the engine forward. gave a lot more room. still a pita but more room is more room lol. now that you have all the other stuff up top it may not help.
i think and hope you mean the dog bones. not the sub frame. seems to extreme for a plug change. ive been wrong before tho lol
One could do the dog bones for even more room but the sub frame bolts only take a sec to do and gives more room if you need it and the space in that bay if damn tight with a 3.4 hit a 3.8 with SC and IC (whistle) TIGHT
yeah it dont look to friendly. so its a 400$ tune up at a shop then lol
That is frickin sweet man! It looks awesome!

Expected today to be full of troubleshooting, but the CEL did not return today! Let it idle for a little in the driveway, then revved it up a little and there was still no light, so we took it for a short drive. A short drive turned into thirty minutes with no CEL at all! The aeroforce gauge was reading weird stuff in the misfires section, but I couldn't make any sense of it and it's apparently pretty unreliable as well. So for now I'll chalk it up as a fluke.
Since we didn't have to do any troubleshooting me and my dad were able to get the bumper back on, fender liners in, and all sorts of little trim and stuff to get it completely finished. Feels weird to walk away from it with nothing left to do. It took a lot longer than expected.
I'll try and get some more pictures of the finished engine bay with the IC hoses ran, if anyone is interested. Or maybe a video of some pulls if I can find it in me.
Thank you to everyone who has had something to say!
if your gauge is showing misfires all over the place thats the po300 code in action. you have active misfires for some reason or another.
I monitored the misfires a little more, the gauge shows a bunch, like 60-100 at idle, then usually below 5 or so at part throttle, and no misfires at WOT. Still no codes, but you could definitely feel the miss at idle. Maybe injectors or vacuum?
I love this kind of stuff.
Haven't been able to work on her much lately, but I checked all the spark plugs, none were cracked. Replaced coils and spark plug wires, and it's still occuring. I did not think the coils or wires would fix it but they needed to be done anyways. The LTFT's at idle when I started the car the other day were around -6, then started dropping rapidly to around -20, where I turned the car off. So the engine is definitely getting way to much fuel from what I can understand through googling. I'm really thinking it's the injectors leaking or the FPR diaphragm leaking. Any other ideas?
we just had a guy with misfires and it turned out to be his valves. he bought the car broken, fixed it up then had the misfires, passed a compression test too some how. new valves lapped in and he says its running perfect now.
Would valves cause it to only misfire around idle? God, I hope that isn't it.
pretty sure this guys was at idle only, drove fine. iirc. heres the thread http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...on-clylinder-3
i picked up a set of junk yard heads, but just from sitting th evalves can rust up, not every one looked like this cause some were closed while it sat.

I have this same exact problem and have done everything I have a very slight misfire only in cylinder 3 and only at idle. Its such a minor misfire you can't even feel it. I have replaced cool packs, icm, injectors, plugs, everything. Its been like this for over a year and hasn't gotten any worse. I posted a thread on here before about it and a few people told me it was pretty normal and there cars did it as well. When I top swapped I lapped all my valves just like Scotty is showing so i don't think it's a valve thing.

So I changed all the injectors, the fuel pressure regulator and the MAP sensor today. I can't pinpoint exactly what did it, but there is no more misfires at all, and she's running like a top. I'm beyond excited that it worked out, as it's been almost 2 months since the project started and I can finally daily it again. Thanks Scotty and everyone else for your help and recommendations! Now I just need to find a tuner.
fastest soccer mom van in the county i bet lol glad to hear shes fixed up good now. :th_thumb-up::th_thumb-up:
