Hi everyone! Alright, so my predicament (Not really, just curious) is an odd idle on cold start. What I mean is, I'll start my car and it idles at around 1500 for roughly a minute then drops to about 1000 then to about 800 like normal. It's gotten colder in NE Ohio and with the cold has come this odd idle where it doesn't drop from 1500, it'll sit there until I tap the accelerator, then it drops to normal. It only happens when it's decently cold out. I've thought possible IAC sticking maybe, or maybe TPS? I'm not quite sure. Any incite is much appreciated!

it will idle high when cold, 1500 seems higher then normal. it works off engine temps, as it warms up the idle drops.

    tb might need a cleaning.

With it being below 32* in Northeast Ohio recently, this seems normal. It could depend on the PCM as for what the idle will be. Like Scotty said, it's based on engine coolant temps.

The stock settings on my 06 are set to idle at 1,300 RPMs when the coolant is below 32* F. It will ramp the RPMs down from there to 750 when the coolant is 150*F.
