Hi . New to the forum. I have a 2000 Grand Prix GTP that will start and run for a few seconds and then shut down. I have changed the fuel filter, I had a spare main computer I plugged in no change. The can definitely has fuel pressure, reads around 52 psi with short runs. Going to change the Crank Shaft Sensor next. I am looking for any other items that could be causing my problem. Thanks in advance.

Put your stock PCM back on. The spare main computer probably doesn't have the right VIN for your car.

After that, unplug your mass airflow sensor and see if the problem is still there.

Does it start up and die every time? Is the Security Light flashing?

Hi before I replaced the PCM, I did unplug the mass air flow, and there was still no change. That is why I changed out the PCM and going for the Crank Shaft sensor

That is correct, starts up every time and dies. Know security light flashing. Also no codes are read on the scanner?

What codes is your OBD reader indicating?

Sounds like it's having a problem with the PK3 system. I would try the security relearn procedure and see if that solves the problem.

With a master vehicle key, turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Observe the security indicator. After approximately 10 minutes, the telltale(security light) will turn OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1-3 two more times for a total of 3 cycles or 30 minutes. Important: The vehicle learns the key transponder information and/or passwords on the ignition switch transition from OFF to RUN. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.

Either that or the fuel pump resistor is shot and he needs to bend tab 85 out and put the pump into high speed mode?
