I searched around and did a bunch of reading, but I wanted to make sure I had this correct.

So, my harmonic balancer/crankshaft balancer bolt is to be torqued to 150+76Nm(111+76ftlbs) after I got it removed and my crankseal replaced. Replacement looks different and has a bigger outside piece, which is also plastic (ACDelco)..., normal? And, anything else I should do, or just throw it all back together and clean it up all around.

I replaced the oil pressure sensor, thinking it was that, then just put a plug in, but that didn't stop anything - have oil spewing all over down there, spraying every which direction.

Also, on a tangent, I have cylinders 1-2, 3-4 misfiring (have new plugs and wires few hundred miles ago) - two bad coil packs a good possibility? The crankshaft position sensor wouldn't have anything to do with that would it? Also, only does it under moderate to heavy acceleration (esp past 30ishmph), just sputters doesn't want to go there fast and spews white smoke out the back. I hacked the pipe off behind the cat, and the cat is completely void of anything, lol, and it still did it - so nothing in the exhaust is doing it.

that seal dont look right, and your old one is trashed pretty good.

get another seal. most come in a gasket kit with a w/p and timing cover gasket.

take a look at the balancer, look for a deep groove in it. if you have one you might need a sleeve for the balancer to make it seal up right again.

the old one is trashed...., badly, lol

That is the one the dealer gave me - the plastic deal can come off, I believe it's for putting the new seal in, then it come off (the plastic part). Because, we were able to put the new on it all the way using the plastic deal and a socket to evenly tap it in. I believe the balancer is good, but I'll take some pics.

Well, the HB fits on fine and snug with that seal, so, IDK....

see the dark to light line, run your finger nail over that line, see how bad the groove catches your nail. if its bad sand it with emory cloth to polish it. it is only a slight groove slap it back on.

after its on, fire it up and let it warm up good, then look for a leak, they dont tend to not leak cold, but once warm they drip away. so wait a bit before putting everything else back on.stuff a paper towel in the crank hole there, get some brake cleaner and spray all the mess down, same for the balancer, its all dirty too.

Yeah, did that, it was smooth still.

I'm a little confused on the torque specs, 150+76Nm(111+76ftlbs) does that mean I go 11ftlbs, then what's the 76 for? I found some variance in SII torque specs, some are 114, but nothing on SIII. Apologies if it's a dumb question, just don't do much torquing and don't understand how to use these numbers.

Also, is the engine going to turn over when we torque this? How would we keep it from doing so?

On the cleaning, yeah, I cleaned it up some, but once it's together I'll run it down to the heated pressure washer and take the wheel off, fastest way to get it all really clean.

thats a tty bolt, (and its used now) if using a air gun i'd just zap the balancer on with the bolt. when the gun stops turning the bolt, its tight enough.

how i did mine, like 4 times cause the damn seal leaked.

Yup, a master mechanic recommended to just zap the old bolt with a gun and as soon as it stops spinning STOP! That is good enough.

Hey Scotty! Long time bud!! Good morning. How's everything on that side of the river? I'll be doing my crank seal tomorrow morning and my AC Delco Seal also came with that plastic cover on it. I'm assuming that once it's sent home it comes off. I hope all has been good with you and the family. My GP just clicked over 217,000 miles on the clock and still going. Last time it was worked on besides a radiator and alternator was when Bill Boost did his magic way back when. Definitely a super reliable ride. Have a great weekend! Talk to you soon! Billy.
