at is wrong with my car?
I have a 04 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. My check engine light came on last week after my car said charging system failure. I went to autozone and they said I had a bad battery so a couple days ago I got a new battery put in. Check engine light went away, then after 2 days it comes back on. I noticed it came back on, I also noticed my car started acting funny on the freeway like it wouldn't go past 90 sometimes then a few minutes later it would act normal. So I went to auto zone again and got the codes that are in the photo. I go to the car mechanic tomorrow. But today I was driving then out of nowhere my car froze up. Like it was still in drive but the engine turned off. I had to start it up again. It wouldn't really accelerate at all. Barely went past. 20. Now it accelerates some times and then it doesn't. I have to go to work soon. I'm thinking of calling off. I don't wanna take it on to the freeway. Please help. Like the car was normal until that battery got changed. The guy said my alternator was fine.

I went to autozone they ran tests. And codes for bad map sensor/baro low input and a bad knock sensor code and a mid fire code came up. Can one of these cause those problems ? I drive a 04 Grand Prix. A guy checked my car earlier and saw that the breather was open. He said they may have been the reason behind it. So he snapped it shut. My car started working fine no problem. Then I let it sit in the driveway till I went to the store. And boom it was back to losing acceleration and turned off. The breather is still closed. I think the breather was by the mass air flow. He said that since it was open it was letting to much air into the engine. Please help asap

The guy that checked it said the car rand and sounded too smoothly for something to be wrong. But of course my car wanted to act normal when someone was around. But just me? It hates me

Might want to remove and clean all the battery cables and grounds. Even the slightest bit of junk on these cars seems to cause all kinds of strange issues. I'd start with both battery terminals and go from there. And make sure both terminals are tight!

Worth a shot. My 00 GPGT once had a ever so slightly loose neg. cable at the battery and when I turned the key to start it the whole car would go dead. Everything worked fine up until then. Cleaned and tightened the cable and all is well.

Also, post up the codes that you had from Autozone. They are trying to tell you something.

The codes from autozone were p0300 random misfire , two p0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low input.
Two - P0327 Knock Sensor DTC codes.

I don't know why two of those codes were the same.
And now I hear knocking coming from under the hood it's really soft it happens when the car is in idle. But it only does it at random times. Also for awhile now when I have my foot on the brake while in drive after driving the car feels like it's jumping a little bit. Like if you had your car in park and you rev it up hard it'll jump a little. That's how it feels but it's really faint

ever tune it up? that could be the misfire code. or a clogged cat could do it also, along with no power and stalling.

might need a new map sensor as well.

is this a supercharged engine or na? if na clogged cat is quite common.

No it's not super charged. And will it still turn on even if it's clogged? The guy said it didn't need a tune up, said the wires and stuff looked fine. I am gonna get some new map sensors. But it's not the sensors causing all this ? You think it's a clogged cat

its possible. how many miles you got? and you ever tune it up, "looking" at the wires says nothing really. if they are factory they are 12 years old now. same with the plugs, they only last about 100,000 miles.

the knock sensor, has the power steering pump ever been changed? its harness is clipped to the pump ppl dont see it and tear it two.

I've never tuned it up. I bought it used in February 2016. What do you mean power steering pump? Like turning the steering wheel? Sorry don't know too much about cars

the pump on the engine that makes the steering power.

whats the miles? sounds like its due for a tune up at least.

so who knows when the last one was done right? so start with a tune up.

iridium plugs gaped to 0.60 and parts store brand plug wires work just fine.

be a lot cheaper to do the tune up yourself. under 100. shop charge twice or more then that.
