Will series 3 3800 valve covers fit on a series 2 engine? I ask because I have alot of 3 series cars in yards around my house and would like to sea mine out for some ones that I refinish. Are the gaskets the same for them or should I just stick with finding series 2 covers to refinish?.....

sc heads needs the l32- l67 covers, na need na covers, they work as long as its a na to na, or sc to sc. you cant put na covers on a sc head, or vice versa.

Except for the 2261 casting (vc rails are straight with no injector boss humps going near tje rocker stands) NA heads. You can put SC valve covers on NA heads

May I ask...., when, what, where, and why on the 2261 casting?

The 2261 head casting is based on the series 1 and was made for the 94 - 96 3800 early series 2.
Basically instead of having one supercharged casting and one naturally aspirated casting they're using the same mold for both so GM can save money. which is really what most of that game is...
