Hope someone can help here. Starting too have problems starting my 04 Grand Prix and when I'm driving all but speedometer gauge shuts down and my traction control and stability control will turn off. Is this do to a bad bcm ( body control module)?

Here are the codes that keep coming up.

Yeah that happens to me every once in a while. I just turn it off and back on and everything goes back to normal. Never really investigated because that seems to make it all better.

I guess there's an ignition recall. partial power loss to complete shutdown of the car. Have you guys taken your cars in for this recall?

thats a fake recall. all they do is give you a new key. read the recall next time. no one's key ever turned off in a grand prix, no matter how many keys they hung on the ring.

Again, I'm not sure the cause of this, I've chalked it up to gp electrical gremlins, but it's happened to me more than a few times.

And every time I turn the car off and back on and it's back to normal. No problems. Hell, I even drove about 10miles with all my gauges dead like that once. No abs, tract, nothing. No problem either.

They don't even give you a new key, they glue an insert into your factory key so you are not able to install a bunch of keys hanging on the chain causing stress on the ignition. Junk!

Or just use common sense and not hang a zillion keys on your keychain. House key/car key is all you should need on a daily basis. Keep that other crap attached on a seperate Keychain.

Disconnect the interface module for the stereo it's hosing up the data line and causing these issues. Reconnect it when it starts working again but it may work for a day or a week or a month and will do it again when it's connected.

Well I put the old stereo back in and cleared all codes but it's still happening. I get codes for my heads up display to traction control and everything in between all referring to loss of communication from the engine control system.

Did you remove the interface module?
