Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and I just recently bought a new 07 Grand Prix Base...
I took it out for a drive and it seemed perfect (getting it checked just to be sure).
The exterior needs repainting and also needs new weather-stripping.
the interior is in worse condition. The right window tint was peeled off.
The rear windshield's tint is also bubbly, the dashboard has
a 5 inch crack on it and some of the parts are really loose.

Overall, it is mechanically sound but... It looks decent but once you start nudging, everything inside feels loose...

PS: Loving the car, it's the first Pontiac I have owned.

    The question is...
Should I spend my time fixing up stuff like paint, seats, dashboard, etc... little by little?
    Is it worth it?

PPS: Anyone here who owned one, any tips and tricks?

The cost to paint it will out weigh it's value that's for sure. If the clear coat isn't peeling away yet, you might be able to bring it back to life with a good once over/ Like clay bar, using a buffer with different compounds and polish to bring the paints shine back.

The other stuff is up to you, if you plan to own it for a long time then sure why not fix some of the smaller things if they are cheap.

I'll try the clay bar and see if it works, though some of the scratches - too deep.

Clay bar will only remove some of the surface crud and make it smoother but a compound and polish is the only real way to bring the shine back.

My advice- just fix what you absolutely can't get used to looking at, and STOP! Thats the GP way.

Of course, if you ever have a storm or wreck total it, the appearance issues hurt insurance value quite a bit. Trouble is, professional paint work on just 2 or 3 panels may cost as much as the car is worth.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.
