    I have Progressive now with a $366 renewal for 6 months. Problem is it's a $1000 deductible.

Out of curiousity I checked Geico and I can get a $250 deductible for $388/6 months with the same coverage. Kind of a no brainer.
I had to deal with Progressive in February when my daughters car was totalled and they were johnny-on-the -spot with the money.

Does anyone have any experience making a claim with Geico?

Had good luck with geico both with a hail damage claim and an accident. With that much of a difference, I'd definitely make the switch. That is my 2cents

Erie insurance is supposed to be good too, depending on where you are, might be worth getting a quote from them as well. One shop I dealt with said they were great with payments and supplements not always trying to nickel and dime for the cheapest repair.

I went with Geico for a long time and just switched last week to Farm Bureau because the home owners insurance was going to be cheaper, but I still recommend Geico. they have a nice military discount that is tough for many insurance companies to compete with. here is a tidbit that many people don't realize, Geico is an acronym, and stands for Government Employee Insurance Company.

Actually just switched from Geico to Progressive. Same coverage lower rate. Geico wasn't so great handling an accident when a young kid decided to pull out in front of me. The adjuster was god awful.
