So I have a 99 GTP and have started to notice that after I start my car, shifting to reverse sounds like a clunk with a metallic tone in it and shifting to drive just clunks. Also, if I'm in gear and release the brake, I don't roll forward or back until I depress the accelerator.
My initial thought was a worn or loose torque converter, but after some research it looks like the converter would have different symptoms. Any help would be appreciated ☺

I would be checking over all suspension related parts and motor mounts for the clunk.

And maybe a dragging caliper/pad for the rolling part.

Good idea about the calipers, but why would suspension be related? Regardless, I just replaced the front control arm bushings and rear sway bar links myself, nothing else looked to bad

Did you check the engine and trans mounts? How are the bushings in the dogbones up top?

You were right, I brought it in for a recall recently and the dealership forgot a nut for the bolt holding the dog bones. Thanks bud

Retweet. I went to a pull your part yard yesterday and got a replacement driver side skirt, mirrors, and many small fixes for less than $15. And clean pre-gen rims are $25 each
