Picked up some roof rails, what's the best way to adhere them. I was thinking 3m auto tape, but wondering if there's a better alternative? And no I'm not drilling holes...!

Get some double sided emblem tape and go along the entire bottom. Don't do a whole continous strip though, have some spaces in there.

Make sure the part on the roof is clean too, otherwise it won't adhere well.

Was wondering about that. Thanks. Also the flat end goes towards the front correct?

Why do a few strips instead of one complete strip? Thank you

Because the roof rail is curved. If you can get a complete strip on there, go for it. But it might be difficult trying to bend it and make it follow the slight curve.

Roof rails are labled Left and Right, you can't screw it up.

One long strip of 3M tape is fine, both the rail and roof have a curve. Tape on the roof rail and drop it into place, that simple.

I didn't find markings on mine but they fit best with the flat part at front, tucked under the seal. Grey 1/2" 3M attachment tape would be my first choice. I used black because thats what was on the shelf. After getting a good stick to the rail, peel back the ends of the tape liner a little and leave the ends hanging out where you can grab them. Position the rail and lightly stick the ends then pull out the tape liner once you're happy with the fit and press it all down hard. Next few times the car is warm on top, maybe mash them down again and wiggle to test for looseness as a re-check.

This sh!t works wonders for helping 2 sided tape stick

I know a lot of auto body supply stores sell it if you want to pick it up locally.

That stuff is indeed awesome. Probably overkill on roof rails since gravity works with them, but yeah. Hardest part on swapping mine over was getting all the old layers of tape and glue off. Thats very important, especially since any old stuff left on creates a wider gap around the rail.

You remove both the strips that where they sit at. The roof trim, then i just used some strong adhesive glue and it worked fine.
