I havnt posted in awhile, i sold my 01 gt with 73k on it for a total of 6050$ after 5600$ for the car, and sold extra rims for 450$.
Figured I would get more views here, even though its not a GP.
I got this 03 impala with 3.4 engine. Its got 195K on it. Its a little loud for the exhaust, but I dont care about that.
Its leaking alot of fuel. Its right where the fuel filter is. Guy said car sat for 2 years then i ended up buying it for 400$. He put it out and i was on way home from ND. Seen it, called that day. He said it was out for about one day. Asking 1500 obo, he had a bunch of cars and didnt use it i guess.
I talked him down, i smelt the fuel but didnt see the leak until the car was warmed up when i was on my way home.
Its a little rusty on the rockers, but it drives okay. Two front tires are totally shot, he said he couldn't remember how long it was since they were rotated.
I got a shimmy going 60-70 but i suspect its the tires. I told him it was probably a cv axle, and the cars pulling to the left pretty hard. Changed oil, seen the fuel leak and ordered a fuel filter, tie rods, pressure regulator, air filter, i got a extra set of sway bar linkage from when I had my GP. The bushings looked pretty bad. Good thing is, no oil leaks, no misfires, no codes for nothing.Has a little slow shift from 1 to 2, otherwise all other gears in tranny are great. Brought my tech 2 with, and ran it around the car. They dont have rpm cluster, so had to use my tech 2 to check rpms when in each gear. 1500 rpm at 55. cant remember what 70 was, but it was lower than it was in my GP.
Right track with this? The tech 2 did say something about oil pressure sensor or something like that on the DTCs, but the engine light was not on. Did say change oil soon when you start it up, then it goes away after a second. I changed the oil, and let the car sit because the tires are ****.
Also starts pretty hard. I bought it, ran into walmart to get oil, and came back out and it cranked about 7 times before firing. Same thing when I changed the oil 30 minutes later.
Let it sit for 2 hours and it started right up on second crank so im sure its related to the fuel issue.
