I havnt posted in awhile, i sold my 01 gt with 73k on it for a total of 6050$ after 5600$ for the car, and sold extra rims for 450$.

Figured I would get more views here, even though its not a GP.

I got this 03 impala with 3.4 engine. Its got 195K on it. Its a little loud for the exhaust, but I dont care about that.

Its leaking alot of fuel. Its right where the fuel filter is. Guy said car sat for 2 years then i ended up buying it for 400$. He put it out and i was on way home from ND. Seen it, called that day. He said it was out for about one day. Asking 1500 obo, he had a bunch of cars and didnt use it i guess.

I talked him down, i smelt the fuel but didnt see the leak until the car was warmed up when i was on my way home.

Its a little rusty on the rockers, but it drives okay. Two front tires are totally shot, he said he couldn't remember how long it was since they were rotated.

I got a shimmy going 60-70 but i suspect its the tires. I told him it was probably a cv axle, and the cars pulling to the left pretty hard. Changed oil, seen the fuel leak and ordered a fuel filter, tie rods, pressure regulator, air filter, i got a extra set of sway bar linkage from when I had my GP. The bushings looked pretty bad. Good thing is, no oil leaks, no misfires, no codes for nothing.Has a little slow shift from 1 to 2, otherwise all other gears in tranny are great. Brought my tech 2 with, and ran it around the car. They dont have rpm cluster, so had to use my tech 2 to check rpms when in each gear. 1500 rpm at 55. cant remember what 70 was, but it was lower than it was in my GP.

Right track with this? The tech 2 did say something about oil pressure sensor or something like that on the DTCs, but the engine light was not on. Did say change oil soon when you start it up, then it goes away after a second. I changed the oil, and let the car sit because the tires are ****.

Also starts pretty hard. I bought it, ran into walmart to get oil, and came back out and it cranked about 7 times before firing. Same thing when I changed the oil 30 minutes later.

Let it sit for 2 hours and it started right up on second crank so im sure its related to the fuel issue.

Well if the fuel leak is coming from the fuel filter area, it's probably best to start with that. And if it has never been changed, at over 195k miles a new one should be put in. Fuel lines might have rusted out too. And then you'd need to install all new fuel lines because there's more than likely other rusty parts.

Yeah thats pretty much what I was thinking. Im going to throw the regulator, and filter onto it and see. Are the fuel lines hard to do? Never messed with fuel lines, have done fuel filter on my old 01 gt I had and it was easy. Car sat for 2 years he said. Gotta get two tires or find a cheap set that has good tires on it before its driveable. Two front tires totally shot and cupped to all hell.

And heres the leak, not sure if you can see it leaking but its leaking lots of gas from the filter area.

Too bad your so far away, I've got two decent Firestone 225/60-16's I could let go super cheap. Bought a set for the rims and two are still good.....
Lack of planning on your part does NOT constitute an emergency on my part.

200$ for those, after gas driving a gmc yukon 100 miles each way on interstate. Also lost 40$ at the casino, so i chopped that up for the cost of the rims.

No gas, no casino, they were 120$. 1/3 tread uniroyal, and goodyear tires. 18" chrome. Should fit just fine they are 5x115. I just gotta figure out what the hell is leaking gas. Hope I don't have to mess with the rail. Ordered fuel filter, and i assume it may be a bad o ring on the rail.

Yessiir. He was asking 200. Posted them at like 10 at night. Got up for work at midnight and decided to take a look for tires/rims for it. Seen those, texted him at 2am. Called at about 10 am when I got off work.

Said was on a 01 monte carlo, before that a 2010 or 2009 malibu. Told him ill come and be there in about 2 hours and give him 150. He said we could talk about it. They are in great shape, and i told him I just didn't know if it would fit the 03 impala for sure. I know the 5x115 are right, but it was a gamble for me and he said 120$. Im sure if they don't fit, i could get 500+ for them. I got 450 for my 05 gtp wheels 17" that were beat up.

That's a steal, lol. My attempts to pounce on good Craigslist deals always end up with the seller selling it before I get there, haha.

    Your not the only one.

Happens to me 95% of the time that I want to get it.
He said someone else about a hour away wanted them I told him I would leave right now and be there in 2 hours with cash in hand. I almost expected them to be sold by time I got there.
