My buddy works for a dismantler here in town, and he has sold at least 10 engines to friends for their 4x4's and buggy's. As long as you get a bit of warranty, and do what most others have already mentioned, you will be good to go. Dive in and go for it, cuz that's the only way any issues will arise.

dont try to host your pics on site here, it dont work. host them off site like you have been, then right click the pic and copy url addy, then click the 3 rd icon from the right in the reply box, a window opens click the url tab, paste the link uncheck the box for a large pic and OK.

you need to host the pics some where your ipad is like taking it from your hard drive, same thing, dont work.

use image shack photobucket, what have you, facebook also works. needs to be online somewhere.

Couple more pics, rad hoses look really beat for 1k but i know time and moisture can do damage, as long as the valves are clean ill be happy.

do any of you see the fine print "hoops" you have to jump through fer the warranty at most yards?

, modified vehicles, no warranty, you have to tow vehicle to them to inspect before warranty is approcved or denied, they can deny you for anything they please the way most of the boilerplate warranties ive seen.

so if your top swapping, tossing it into a racecaqr...ANYTHING other than a stock daily driver with vin/rpo's match (no gt tranny's into GTP's) you can very well get denied the warranty even after spending 200$ to tow it there so they can look at it.

ive seen people pay nearly the cost of an engine to get their **** inspected for a warranty....

ive gotten engines for 125$ with no warranty. over 15k with no problems so far

look through their rolodex/files to find the one you want, ask the price, then ask for it with no warranty, often you save at least 100$ if not 200$ with a little negotiation. memorize the stock/inventory number to make sure they don't pawn off a different one to you.

paying for the warranty when most of us would assuredly be denied ofr modified vehicles....is not smartses

The guy I'm dealing with here has been very honest regarding the warranty. He said he could offer me one but he'd just be taking my money. if it works well within 100 days it probably came working to begin with. I don't plan on changing anything from stock for now

Finally got the engine andxremoved xthe xxalvex cover andx thermostat to take a peek insidxe. There was a dark purple liquid residue you can see it if you look closely looked like oil didnt smelled burnt, inside under thermostat i found a weird crumbly gooey pinkish material seen in pics maybe old coolant? Let me know what you guys think.
