I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix (3.8). Lately, my car doesn't want to start on its own. I have to hold my foot on the gas for like a minute or two while I turn the key. If I don't hold my foot on the gas then the car automatically shuts off. The other day I was on my way home and my car just died. All of the lights on my dashboard started flickering. My headlights and dashboard lights got real dim. My speed decreased tremendously but my speedometer said that I was going like 90 mph, but I knew that wasn't true. I pulled over on the side of the highway and my car died just like that. I tried to restart it, but it wouldn't start. The inside lights came on and the power locks were locking and unlocking. I left the car there and got a ride home. The next day I tried to start the car, but it didn't start. It had this click noise like I needed a jump. I jump started the car and was able to drive it home. This morning I went to heat the car up. I had to hold my foot on the gas for the car to start and it started. I turned the heat and the radio on. After a few minutes of running the car, the ABS light and TRAC OFF light started flickering on and off on the car. I turned the car off and left it in the yard. I didn't want to risk driving it and it stops on me again. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? I have had my battery and alternator checked and they are both fine. I recently replaced the mass airflow sensor, spark plugs, fuel filter, and air filter.
