    Well long story short, i replaced every suspension part that exists on the chassis, she runs very well for 189,000... No topical rust on the strut towers, she need rockers but thats it.. I want to either build this 3800 or find a 38sc.. Is it cheaper to build mine or easier to just drop in the 3.8sc and trans from another one?? Just some feed back pweaseee! Thank yah! 🚗💨

    if the rockers are rotted, find a whole new car.

    Ill never find a 97-03 in michigan with rockers left period... I like very close to the lake michigan... Tons of salt.. Im going to drop it off and have new ones put on by a local body shop

    top swapped engines feel pretty damn good. im running one with a few mods.

    being i had a the extra engine and extra sc heads, i diy ported the heads. then top swapped the n/a block i got. i have rockers and headers already so those went on and the stock pulley went back on. tuned it and its has as much power as the l67 withe same mods with the 3.4 pulley.

    since then ive added a fsic 42 injectors and 3.0 pulley. now it really moves lol

    we just had this talk the other night in chat. the cam is the same n/a or s/c. the na block the cam is advanced two degrees is the only difference.

    well, and the high compression.

    if you do a cam at least do a input shaft in the tranny. its gonna snap it. why i dont have a cam. they can kill a tranny pretty good. cam and inputs got to cost 800 clams right there...

    cam will end up being another 500 bucks before its done. all new gaskets and head bolts and fluids for the engine 220. top swap parts up to 400, inputs like 300, your gonna break a grand easy in parts.


    lets just say i made a guy giggle like a little kid in my just top swapped regal, all he knew was his stock regal gs, so it was that much better then stock.

    i bought a 98 gp gt from ohio (im in fla) for the interior only.... and i must say thats the only thing that was good i put a jack under it and it went THROUGH the body... lol.

    Yupp all the gp's up in Michigan are all rusted and gone almost.. Its terrible i hate seeing them all in the junk yards

    theres tons of Gps in the northwest and dot doesnt salt roads they use deicer so rust isnt really a issue

    Well in michigan they salt the roads.. It gets caked everywhere. Id say 8/10 cars i go and look at the strut towers are getting ready to shoot the struts through the trunk.. Or the unibody is getting ready to snap in half and you can barley put a jack under them just to change the tires and breaks lol

    turbo it no cam cam needed leave your engine alone unless you want to out rockers and valve springs in it.

    turbo means you "need" a built tranny, or boom! another 3 to 4 grand easy. and turbo is 3 times what a gtp is.

    A stock transmission will hold a decent amount of power with a good tune and some common sense.
