I'm tempted to say eff it, lol it's not leaking, and I'll be replacing the valve cover gaskets later anyways... Lol

In that picture it looks to have a ton of dirt/oil mix all over the supercharger and alt.

Oh, I didn't see his location. We don't have to deal with that crap around here.

It is what it is, it definitely not dirt or oil. I put the cover back on anyway. I am sure not going to scrub it lol.

Mine is at the dealer now.. ARGH - I left the neck on but kept the cover at home. I asked the dealer to just save the neck and give back to me and he said no. I had GM call him but I'm not sure they will give the neck back.

Today was just not a good day at all. I received the 15757 Recall postcard today, just hours after my car caught on fire (down to a crisp) Yeah I'd say my recall notice came a tad too late

Well, the issue has been known for like 10 years now, proper care of the engine or atleast taking a look under the hood every now and then would have shown the leaking oil.

I tried to get the recall done but the engine is in another body and GM will not do the recall on the engine. Anyone have this done after a engine swap.

what does it matter what engines in there? if its grand prix with a 3800 in it they should do the recall.

I'd guess they go by the VIN. That way they can wiggle out of some repairs.

im sure you can buy the new cover and gasket form the dealer. but really, just watch for oil leaks and you'll be fine. this recall is really for those who never look at their engine, or ignore the sight of smoke and smell of burning oil. aka dummys.
