So, I've been taking stuff off of my parts car today, got the passenger and rear seats out, but the driver's seat is all/part the way back and there's no power to it (the car had an electrical fire, so...) - since I can't get the the TI-50s, is there some way to remove the seat with it in this position? Do I need to torch a hole under the car and, IDK, cut something?

I took a jump box to the car and accessed the connector so I could move mine. You could use a car battery too, just carefully use a couple small tools to apply power, then work the seat controls to move it. Easier with a third hand lol.

Yes, which wires to power up was guesswork but I figured it out so I bet you can too.

ive heard tail of people using 12 volt cordless drill batterys to power seats in the junk yard, as they dont let you bring a battery in the yard.couple of wires with alligator clips on both ends should do the trick.

then of course the poke and test till it works.

Where do I provide power to? I know next to nothing about car wiring.

under the seat is the plugs for the seat. unplug them and start poking around in there.black wires are round most of the time, so start with a ground. then poke around till the seat moves, hold the seat switch so you know its getting power where you need it.

that torx is also a 15 mm bolt head, but they are a kinda tall bolt. could keep working each sides bolt and lift the back of the seat up to keep the bolt off the seat bottom. open end wrench may do the trick.

A straight ratchet wrench like the one I have might work. I think its a fat orange wire that has to be powered up. Could also be pink or yellow. Like Scott said, ground will be black, then just try the biggest other wire first. Just be cautious applying power and only move it forward enough for access. And yes we are talking about the large electrical connector under the seat, it has enough slack that you can get to the connector once its unplugged.

Its the connector in the foreground, blurry. The one that would be holding the seat to the car once it's unbolted.

Heres the wires to it. Maybe somebody has a wiring diagram and can save us a few sparks.

Alldata shows the orange wire on Pin A being power +12v. They don't have a picture of the connector and such.

Yup, fat orange (had to make a few sparks first though, lol). Thanks a bunch guys!, we got it all out, now to just find a bolt for the upper seat part, lol.

Tried a wrench, but the left side had a wrap-around plastic piece, and the other side just wasn't accessible because the seat was all the way back.
