I have thought this would be a good section to add anywhere for years. I know there are probably a lot of people out there that just pop the hood and look around and start thinking "Hey wouldnt it be great if someone could make this?" . Since I enjoy doing everything myself including fabrication and custom parts I think things up all the time, BUT when you arent allowed to say things like this on certain forums or you get a smack on your wrist it is hard to get any interest to justify the work that goes into it. Something as simple as an intercooler line bracket that holds the coolant lines from rubbing into the belts.... I made one last winter on a car because that is one thing nobody should have to worry about and should have been thought of and included with the kit. Its no fun for someone to have a small leak in the system and go out and beat on the car with massive KR only because they are low on coolant in the IC system but never knew about the leak until it was too late. Just little things like this make a big difference and this is just an example of a small idea that will prevent a lot of grief down the road.

Trannyman, I think that is a wonderful idea. And you are right, absolutely right in saying what is the point in putting in the effort when you get road blocked and cant get interest generated.

That said, first, dont have any fear of that here. If you have some ideas or some parts you would like to see what kind of interest there would be, post them up, PLEASE. I welcome them because, heck, I may want one myself. Ive seen enough of your work through others to know that what you put out there is going to be good stuff.

As for a new section, right now I'll leave that up to Chris because he has worked VERY hard on the structure of the site and I hate to go screwin' with it without talking to him first.

However, for the time being, if you have something ready you can use one of the two vendor areas if you like. I think the trouble we would have with an additional section is the frequency of its use, unless it was an area where people could come in and say I would like to see this and then you decide if there is enough interest to warrant you making the part and releasing it for sale.

I think that way would require some good moderation to keep repeats down, though I think it would perhaps work better that way, the community saying this is what we want and you taking it and running with it.

But as mentioned, if you have something ready and want to see if anyone would be interested, then use one of the vendor areas and go for it. Hopefully Chris will see this and give his input. If not then I'll put a bug in his ear and see what he would like to do.

How about maybe once a thread starts just label it sticky in the Vendor section so its always on top for people to see and add there thoughts to. That way nothing should get repeated and it will always be on top to find easy down the road and people will be able to look through ideas over time and suggest new ideas or add their thoughts.

That would be easier in the mean time and maybe overall. Im not opposed to a 'New Parts Section' as you mentioned, I just rather Chris have the final say on that since he has worked so tirelessly to structure the forum.

Looks good Chris! I just like the idea of people being able to freely suggest ideas or ASK if someone is interested in a potential part.

Great suggestion Dave!! Glad you guys agree. I have been wanting this for years as well. I have tried to ask or gauge interest on the other forum, but keep it vague enough not to violate any rules. Most of the time it goes nowhere because the members don't understand what is being asked or that they have multiple people that are willing to try to get stuff done. Thanks also Chris for upping the pic and character limits. Appreciate the open minded nature of this forum as it is starting up. Also having met at least one admin that backed an event for a very good cause gives me more confidence in the direction. -Jason
