Why can't we see who gave us the reputation when we get it? Others boards I have been on, you see the user name of the person that gave the rep to ya. But here you can't. Is this just and option that can be turned on somewhere?

You should be able to go to your user control panel and see it there.

Still not right. Didn't get my "extra" permissions yet!

    haha....

So you are saying, this is just the way it is? Someone can give me negative rep, and I can't see who gave it to me so I talk to them about it?

    ?

I think the system is set up that way so that the points could be given somewhat anonymously so that there would be no retribution for negative feedback.

Ive asked about implementing a 'Thanks' type system here that Ive seen on some of the Linux forums I frequent, but of course, it has stalled. Its a bit more generic in that it only records how many times you have thanked someone for their help and how many times someone has thanked you for your help. To me its a much easier system to use and more telling of your participation on the forums while still maintaining anonymity.

But I suppose, for now, we'll remain stagnant.

I believe that green dots mean ones that you got Positive rep from. grey ones are rep that is neutral. If someone comes on here, and doesn't have any rep, he/she can't give any rep. They can leave a comment, but it doesn't affect your reputation positive or negative.
