Thread TITLES?

Is it normal for thread titles to automatically be replaced with Name case? I mean if you type:
THREAD TITLES

it names it:
Thread Titles

Just wondering if that's normal and what the reason is for it? Just keeping people from posting all caps? What about if you try and post an acronym or something in a title?

Edit: Ok, so it didn't do it with this title but the thread I just posted in the Audio section I swear it did it. I called it "RAP POP"
