COD4 IP addy 8.12.22.151:28960 (port might be wrong, just if it is)

    My handle is TollKeeper.

I know one of our goals was to keep the site squarely focused on cars as much as possible. There is a forum out there for just about everything you do. That said, there is something to be said about having one site to visit and do a lot of the things you enjoy doing.

I dont do a lot of gaming so I may not be the best to chime in on this. I can see your point, but I also would like to keep the site focused as well.

perhaps a single off-topic forum could be used for games, etc, and other non-car topics...

Something would be nice, just for a BS area, you can also make sub-tobics in the "non-car" related area. There you could have a section for games, movies, whatever.

Dont get me wrong, I see your points, but Im not a big fan of Other Topic areas. If I may use ClubGP's as an example and I have been on other forums that have such areas that are not far off from theirs. But Im also not the only Admin here so we shall see.

You give a place for people to run rampant, and they will and I dont like having to close off areas of the forum from public view or grant special permission and so on. But again, Im not the only Admin.

I like the way this site is myself, we have a sort of off topic area, but if it is a dedicated area soon you start seeing the tech areas suffer in my experience

I too like the idea of the "one stop shopping", however I have to agree with Scotty on this.

The whole reason we started this forum was to bring together people who have a common interest, the Grand Prix. If we deviate from that common interest to something that is not "related" to the Grand Prix, then we open the door the "Others" to come into our forum who dont have the same common interest and therefore may not follow the rules we have setforth.

I think the best way to handle this would be to make a post in the Lounge area about "Gamer Area" and post up what game you like to play, and where you play it with your user name. If it looks like its growing, I have no problem making a sticky or even makeing a sub topic and seperate it by games. This would have to be approved by other Admins however, and the area would not be used to discuss games, just to post info about where you play, what games you play, and what your name is there in the event anyone wants to go to the site and join up with you in some game play.

    Hope that makes sense
