I think something needs to be done with the how to section at the top of the page and the how to write up's in the regular forum.

Some things that I see need to be fixed.

There are like 10 stickys. So you're only getting like 10 new threads per page. Can we put this into sections similar to how the how to section is at the top of the forums?

Some seem to have the same information. Wich is all awesome information! Can we merge these two sections together?

This may not be the case for everyone but I just found out about the how to section at the top of the forums about a month ago. And I've been here for a while now.

Maybe even if we just merged the searches together to where it would display information from both of the sections when you searched for something that they both contained. I had trouble doing this when I was looking for a chain/sprocket swap that Dave did that was only in the how to section and not in the how to write up's.

I'd be more than willing to devote all of the time that it requires to do something like this if I was allowed or able to help. I think that there are a lot of little things like this that can make this community an even BETTER place than it already is.

Ok so no one seems to give a crap about this. Seems like adding a Free for all section is way more important than forum organization.

It's kind of rediculas that ideas like this get ignored. Suggestions like this also make the forums a better place along with the additions of additional forum sections.

Come on James,Chance and jacob. Give me your opinion on this idea.

I think it's a great idea myself. On another forum the same thing was happening, and a generic sticky was generated to contain threads like your mentioning without the clutter.

Only one problem presented itself, people were too lazy to look in the sticky to see if their question was answered and asked the same questions over and over again...

    Thanks for your opinion,

I'd have to agree with the above statement you made about looking first.

But that is going to be an on going problem. The main issue I see is some of the usefull information that our members have submitted does not show up in a regular search. And this is only an issue I see with the how to section at the very top left of the forum page.Which some I'd be willing to bet does not even realize it exists.

Being a relative newbie, I'm probably a lil guilty of that myself. Although I've used the search function alot on here and found most of what I was looking before I asked.

Alot of your posts as a matter of fact...

LOL. I think we all are. I'm sure at some point I have done it as well.

Sorry for the VERY late reply TDC....

I have fallen behind on updating the How 2 section. Basically here is how it works.

The sticky's have not been posted in the how 2 section at the top of the page, this is why they are stickys.

The how 2 section at the top of the page is cleaned up versions of the original post, however because its not really a part of the forum, it cant be searched, this is why the original post is left in the forum. If you look at some of the older posts, it will say "this post has been moved to the How 2 section and can be found here". With leaving the post in the forum, you can search and it will get you to where you to what you are looking for.

I have been UBER busy with the new job, trying to get custody of my son, planning a wedding, and a new grandbaby, not to mention planning the BGPM (thank God I have lots of help this year). With any luck things will calm down in the next month or so and I can get the how 2 section caught back up.

Chris, First off it's nice to see you around again. Second, I appreciate the response more than anything. I understand people have more important things going on than to be on forums al of the time. I just appreciate the time it took to sit down and read what we were suggesting to do.

Yes I do remember reading that on a lot of posts. To bad it can't be searched by the forums. That was the main reason I had started this thread in the first place.

But again I appreciate your response and anyone else that may comment on this matter.
