Due to having a baby on the way, I need something more economical and it's now time to get rid of my toy. I love this car dearly, and I will hate to see it go with all blood/sweat and tears put into it, oh... and money as well. It's just time to grow up and think about my future. Will sell for $5,000 firm to someone on this forum. I will be just copying and pasting my craigslist ad into here.

For sale, I am selling my 1997 Grand Prix GTP. I am the third owner of this car and have owned it the past 3 years/40k miles. I bought it 100% stock, and built the car myself. Never thought I'd see the day I would have to let this car go, but my reason for selling is I have a baby on the way, and I need something more economical. Many hours and money has been put into it and has been perfectly maintained. Has many aftermarket parts, installed either professionally or by myself (I study Automotive Engineering and an ASE certified Mechanic). I change the oil every 2,800 miles with Pennzoil High Mileage and a Mobil 1 oil filter. Car has only ever seen 93 octane (Shell V-Power).

    Repairs:
    -Front Axles
    -Front Rotors/Pads
    -Oil Pan Gasket
    -Coolant Flush
    -Front Passenger Window Regulator
    -Transmission Fluid/Filter
    -Rebuilt Transmission
    -Driver Side Wheel Bearing
    -Passenger Control Arm Bushing
    -Both Front Stabilizer Link Pins
    -Fuel Filter
    -Both Rear Struts
    -Both Rear Springs
    -Metal Lower Intake Gaskets
    -Rebuilt Engine
    -Head Gaskets
-New Pirelli P4 All Season Tires (80,000 Mile Warranty, Have about 15k miles on them now. Only use them for the summer as I have a spare Rims/Tires for the winter. Winter Tires have 7k miles on them, will include with the car).

If the work wasn't done by me, I have receipts for everything else.

    Options:
    -Power Locks
    -Power Windows
    -Power Mirrors
    -Power Seat
    -Heated Drivers Seat
    -Cold A/C
    -Heat Works Perfectly
    -Heads Up Display

    Engine:
    -1.9 Harland Sharp Roller Rockers
    -L76 90# Springs (Stock G8 Valve Springs)
    -Comp Cams Valve Locks
    -Ported And Polished Cylinder Heads
    -SLP Headers
    -Borla Exhaust
    -New Exhaust/Intake Valves
-Gen V Supercharger (Off of an 04+ Grand Prix) on a 3.4 Pulley (Stock is 3.8)
    -Northstar Throttle Body
    -LQ4 MAF Sensor
    -Intake
    -ZZP 10.5mm Spark Plug Wires
    -AL104 Spark Plugs
    -Poly Engine Mounts
    -Poly Dogbone Bushings
-Front And Rear Strut Tower Braces
    -Custom Tune

    Transmission:
    -Fully Rebuilt
    -4340 Input Shaft
    -Hardened 4th Gear
    -Shift Kit

    Exterior:
    -SD Hood
    -SD Front Air Dam
    -4 Piece Aluminum Grille Set
    -SLP Gen 1 Spoiler
    -Tinted LED Tail Lights
    -Special Edition/Daytona Roof Rails
-CCFL Gen 2 Projector Head Lights
-04+ Grand Prix Comp G Rims
    -G8 GXP Exhaust Tips
    -6k VVME H.I.D. Headlights
    -6k H.I.D. Fog Lights
    -5% Rear Window Tint
    -15% Front Window Tint
    -5% Front Windshield Visor Tint

    Interior:
-Black Leather with zero rips/tears. In great condition
-3 Gauge Pillar Pod with Boost, Volts, Oil Pressure
    -Heads Up Display
-Heads Up Display Pod with Aeroforce Scan Gauge and AEM Wideband (Will sell with car, if price is right).
    -Pioneer Tweeter Speakers
    -Pioneer 5.25 Front Speakers
-Kenwood Performance Series 6x9 Rear Speakers
-Single 12" Alpine Type R in Ported Box (Will sell with car, if price is right).
    -Sony Deck
    -04+ Gauge Needles

I am an honest seller, and this car has a few flaws that I wont hide.

    Bad:
    -Bubbling Under Gas Cap
-Front Bumper has some paint missing
    -Rear Windows Don't Work
-Has it's minor scratches here and there considering it's age
-Occasional steering wheel shake under hard braking
-Horn doesn't work (Keeps blowing the fuse, short somewhere. Just didn't bother with it since I never use it).

All in all, you will not find a better looking Grand Prix in the area that has been very well maintained. No lights on the dash, and doesn't leak a drop of any fluid at all. Blows cold A/C and heat works flawlessly. I take amazing care of this car. It has won car of the month on many websites, been on the front covers of many auto calendars and cover photos of car groups. Always washed and waxed regularly. Never beat on, never been down a track. Any performance that has been done doesn't effect drive-ability at all. Still sees 27+ MPG on the highway. Like I mentioned, the Engine/Transmission both have been fully rebuilt. The car has 165,000 miles on it, but you'd never know and will be a strong runner for the next 100,000 miles. The car is an absolute head turner and gets noticed everywhere I travel. With the parts added, this car is a very fast 4-door grocery getter, you'd surprise a lot of people. I hope my car falls into the hands of someone else that will appreciate it and take care of it like I did.

    Asking $5,500 or Best Offer.

It will honestly bring me to tears seeing this car drive away. But with a baby coming in 20 weeks, I just need to think about the future. I need to sacrifice the car due to being young and going to college and being a father. But once I settle down, get my degree, I'll get another "toy" to play with.

    Yeah I will.

Even though my GP will be gone, i'll always be a GP fan at heart knowing what I've built.

    I'll always be around.

I still may keep the car. I just want something more fuel efficient.

Not even kidding, if this thing lasts long enough for me to get a couple more paychecks I'll definitely consider buy it. How does the underbody look? Very beautiful car from what the pictures tell.

Also, holy ****. You're a month older than me an have a child on the way. Couldn't imagine.

Underbody is alright. Way cleaner than the majority of Prix's out there. Zero rust on either strut towers. Rockers are rusting. About 40%. I undercoated the rest of the underbody and the strut towers though. To preserve whats left and keep the rust off.

That's the outcome when you spend every penny you can on a car.

    But thank you.
