I've shipped things that big through fedex and it is the 30-40 dollar range. Not really sure where you came up with those numbers.

Where where you trying to ship it to... Canada? I've shipped plenty of items larger than this. As long as they aren't heavy and you use parcel post it doesn't cost that much.
