Re: power steering lines
It poured out almost all of it sitting still, sometimes it would just leave a little trail on the passenger side, I guess I'll update here when I find out something and did that line on yours move very easy?

Re: power steering lines
That seemed very easy, people made it sound hard, doesn't seem like it would take long to put it in

Re: power steering lines
plan on up to 3 hours round trip. if its your first rack. thats what mine took. and i went full blown solo till the end when i needed a friend to wiggle the steering wheel to get the shaft back on.
just about every how to i found at the time said its a 2 man job. i dont see why they think that, except for the shaft part. you need a friends help.

Re: power steering lines
If worse comes to worse I'll have to do it, with the fat lines is there any way to buy new ones cause the rubber looks a little dry and the metal on the ends where the rubber lines are look coroded

Re: power steering lines
you can buy new lines. easy to swap out.
the rack side of the lines are 18 mm if the how to didnt say. then theres one line nut on the pump, and a rubber hose with a clamp on the return line to the pump. have a small pail ready when you take the lines of. the pump will drain as soon as the line comes off.

Re: power steering lines

Re: power steering lines
if the boots are leaking its on its way out sooner or later try some lucas power steering pump sealer.
-
Re: power steering lines
Has to be leaking since that pipe has it in it and it has 0 fluid in it now, do I pour the whole bottle in and then a little power steering fluid

Re: power steering lines
if the pump is empty fill it with the stop leak stuff, then top off with normal p/s fluid if need be.
long funnel, or a normal funnel with a rubber hose is your best friend when it comes to filling the pump. (thanks GM )

Re: power steering lines
I've probably bought 5 bottles of fluid or so since I bought the car and at first I've like to of never found the reservoir lol

Re: power steering lines
Scottydoggs I got my lines on and put that one back on that goes boot to boot, I put a whole bottle of bars leak, it's made for engine, trans and power steering then it held a whole bottle of fluid to and think it's still low but I drove it around the block probably 5 or so miles, got it home and haven't seen any fluid coming out, I put it on ramps and a piece of plywood under it and never seen a drop, the only thing leaking was oil which that's my oil seal behind my harmonic balancer but that's getting fixed Sunday
