I just want to put my 2 cents in and help the potential buyers and the seller.
I’ve been seeing what’s being said in chat and talking to some friends on here and I got to say it seems that there are quite a few newbies that don’t understand what they are getting for the money and some experienced members on here who are forgetting the old modding rule “you gotta pay to play”.
Sure, everyone likes a deal and likes cheap prices but you must remember when something seems pricey, there’s a good reason for it, most of the time, and one of those times is now. Let me elaborate.
This is NOT just a GEN V supercharger. This is a GEN V supercharger WITH a brand new ZZP MPS hub for quick and easy changing of the pulley. The gasket mating surfaces are cleaned and it’s a properly working supercharger. Rotor coating, rotor pack, and coupler is good. Also, nicely painted which is an added bonus and a ZZP EGR block-off plate.
You’re not going to get a supercharger with a MPS already installed on it at a junkyard. You’ll also have to take time and buy products to clean it and hope it runs properly.
The LIM has been blasted clean along with the GEN V adapter so you don’t have to waste time cleaning it. Obviously, the gasket mating surfaces are clean as well. The Adapter is ZZP’s old style design and has an optional fitting already installed. New ones don’t have this option and you’ll have to spend time and possibly money to drill, tap, and put a fitting in there.
ZZP wants $85 for a new Gen V adapter plus $10 to ship it. That’s $95 right there and like I said before, possibly more money to drill, tap, and put a fitting in there.
In conclusion, these are Key things to remember when getting parts on here.
- Are the parts in good working order?
- Are the parts clean and ready to install?
- Do they have additional mods that will save me time and money? (e.g) an MPS already installed or you’re going to need to rent or buy the correct pulley puller to remove the stock pulley and install the MPS and if not done correctly, risk damaging the supercharger.
- Is this member well liked and trustworthy on this forum?
- Do I understand the old modding rule, "You gotta pay to play?"
I’ve gotta say the seller took the time to clean everything and make sure it’s working properly. Not too many places have people who will do this.
