Are they for a 97-03? Is that why they didn't fit?

they fit 97 up to the end of the 3800's life.

did you try to install them, or you think they wont fit your 04? cause they will.

EDIT: you need your location in the threads first post, edit that in please.

I was getting my headgaskets done and had them install them and we ran into one problem after another the crossover pipe would be rubbing on the power steering line and the trans dip stick was in the way we first tryed to mock up the rear manifold but couldn't get the egr tube and the manifold bolts to line up

for anyone else, you need to change the tranny dip stick on newer cars to a older year, and the p/s line can be dealt with. my rear manny is a 1/2 inch from the lines

and the cross over is no where near the ps lines. rear manny is tho.

these headers will fit a 04 up.

The magnasteer harness will hit if it's not moved out of the way...but that's easy. Lol

And thanks about the dipstick tube tip, btw... That would've been annoying to figure out after starting the install.

I installed a set on my 04 GP. They fit. I had to....
    1. Remove the trans dipstick, bend a little, and reinstall. Still bolts to block.
    2. Bend p/s hose away.
    3. Bash in firewall where 02 sensor is. (Sounds hard but literally took 10 minutes with a ball pein. Screw in 02, see where hits, unscrew, hit with hammer to push in, thin sheet metal it goes in easy)
    4. Use better gaskets. I used felpro.
    5. Use gasket maker at fittings. I didn't first time and had a leak. (Ugh, annoying)
    6. Use better band clamps that seal. NAPA, Walker, Clampco, Summit, etc.
    7. Solder longer 02 wires or buy extended 02 wiring harness.
    8. Remove heat shield on pass side fan. It is super close to front header.

I also had mine ceramic coated, installed a 3" ebay cat, and replaced the flex pipe with double-wall ZZP. I would rate this header install an average. Not the hardest I have done but not a quick drop in and run either. EGR lined up fine for me. Crossover pipe lined up fine as well.

Need any pics or guidance just let me know.
04 GP GT- top swap, VS cam, 2.8 pulley, E85, headers, 60 injectors, TEP 3:29 trans, Racelogic Traction Control, ZZP dyno tuned.
