    Dumb question would a rack and pinion with variable assist from a 2000 gtp work for my car or na? It looks almost exactally like the one in my 04 gtp?

    ShOuld I think. Check the part numbers
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.

    go to autozone.com enter your car. search for a rack, do the same for the year rack in question. match the part #'s up.
