    Hello Everyone-

Long story short... i'm a female and know little to nothing about cars. (I'm trying to learn though)-
Anyways- I just recently got a displey message in my car saying "Reduced Engine Power". I've looked a little on this site trying to figure it out myself and I'm just at a loss. Anyone have suggestions on how the heck to fix this thing (if its an easy fix). Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

that message can mean a bunch of things, maf sensor being one of them.

did the check engine light come on as well? either way you should get the car scanned at a parts store, its free, they will give you the code, that code holds the answer to your cars issue.

if you cant drive the car due to the reduced engine power you should be able to unhook the battery for 30 minutes, and this should reset the code and allow you to drive till it set the code again.

I'm still able to drive it... kind of scared to- but still works. lol The check engine light has been on since i basically bought the car (old gas cap was lost, had to get a new one, and now the sensor says its not there).

    What is a maf sensor?

its a sensor. drive to a parts store, get it scanned see if any codes come up.

try a new gas cap cheap ones are cheap. if the gas cap light still keeps popping up it could be a evap leak.

what year is your car, and what model?

i have a 98 gtp and while at cruising speed on the highway it feels like it is a little sluggish sometimes. im hopeing plugs, wires and an engine flush will help this as the car sat a while before i bought and god knows how long or if even the last owner changed those things. ne one else have similar sluggish problems let me know thanks.
