okay I KNOW what they do, whats best etc... don't tell me. what i wan't to know is, are 1.8 or 1.9 rockers more reliable. and are roller rockers worth it? I also have ls6 valve springs and retainers. i know i need to run those with the 1.9's. if i went with the 1.8's i know i don't need the ls6 valve springs, but is it better for the car if i used them with the 1.8's? im looking for the safest/least harmful to my engine setup. I drive 35k miles a year and whatever i do needs to be the best. a cam is out of the question. any input helps thanks..

From what I know (haven't dived that deep just yet) If you plan to go cammed you don't want to do rockers, stay stock.

If you plan to just run a high rocker setup 1.9s + LS6 springs. Or 1.8s with stock springs as long as you don't tune to redline over 6k you won't have to worry.

I would say most go with 1.9's, but honestly the gains are so minimal that it not worth it in most cases.

i know i have to do either rockers or a cam.. thats why im doing just rockers. i know gains arn't fantastic but considering i am intercooled and have done everything as far as "flow" goes outside my engine. i have no internal engine flow mods so this definatly can't hurt.

Ok, listen closely because this is the first time I'll have said this. Not that long ago a buddy sent me a link (no I don't still have it) to a thread where darkhorizon posted on CGP and a few guys added to it. Basics were that supposedly based on the square pad on our 1.6 rockers, technically when fully pushing down the end of the pad gave close to 1.8 or 1.9 equivalent.

With that said, I took a stock motor that I drove for months and tossed springs, seals and rockers on to it. There was more power. I didn't dyno, so I can't tell you any more than I'm not a first time modder and would be honest if I didn't feel a difference.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
