    Rebuild or 3800 swap? i can get a 3800 SC with computer and wiring harness for $100. How hard is the install? mainly wiring? can i use my factory harness and computer, maybe have ta swap a few sensors to do so, can i use my starter?

    What car are you putting it in? What year is it out of?
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.

    It could be done but your car is obd1 so you'll have to redo a lot of wiring.

    You would need to do some wiring. IIRC I heard that a Monte wiring harness works best. IIRC Z34Phoenix recently did this type of swap and said it was pretty easy. Check out his thread.

    But his was already obd2 wasn't it?

    why cant i just change crank and map sensors and coil packs and f@CK engine light. it will run like that right

    im planning on swaping my 3800 engine in my 01 gp gt with a supercharged series 2 engine. ill have to buy the transmission, harness,pcm and engine seperatly. ithink its easear on the newer grand prixs.
