I am wondering if anyone knows the weight in grams of the stock rockers and push rods? i am crunching the numbers of my new valve train vs the stock. so far my new springs/ retainers/ locks are heavier then the stock but the new valves i have are lighter. i have yet to weigh the push rods that came with my new rockers yet but i will post the info i have so far:
Item / Stock / New / brand
Rocker / ??g / 184g / SLP 1.8 RR
Springs,retainers,locks / 81g / 87g / 105#, retainers, comp locks
Exh Valve / 85g / 83.5g / Si 1.52 valves
Int Valve / 103g / 97g / Si 1.8 valves
so far it looks like im saving 45g in the valves, but i have gained 72g with the springs. so i am 27g heavier then stock right now... hopefully the rockers and push rods save me some. i know the heavier weight springs will put more load on the timing set too... but in just looking at pure rotating mass right now. So if anyone has a scale and a stock rocker and push rod i would love to know what the weight is. If not i will have to wait till i tear it all down and throw them on the scale to get matching weight compare.
on a side note, seeing as the exhaust valves are nearly the same weight as the stock... if i had to do this over again i would just have gotten stock valves for the exhaust. its very possible that 1.5 grams are just carbon build up on the stock valve....
