I will be getting an 02 GP GT here in a few weeks and the gas gauge doesnt work at all, they have been using the trip. I saw this video in another post.

YouTube - Pontiac Bonneville Fuel Sender Replacement -- PART 1

Wondering if anyone had done this to there GP of even if our GP's have that trunk accessibility to the top of the tank so I wouldn't have to drop it.
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated, I want to do this for cheap, and I could defiantly handle what this guy did in the video but IDK if it would work or if I could use the same part he did.

Mine does the same thing. Th gas gauge just goes from full to empty all the time, but i just use the trip computer.

Go to the search bar and type in Gas Gauge problem and there are some write ups on this already. The main cause is the sending unit going bad. I am not sure on the price to fix it.

Yes, you can get at the fuel pump through the trunk.

Just incase anyone else has this same problem as I did, FOLLOW THE UTUBE VIDEO! Order that stupid part, this was really pretty easy to do on my 2002 GP GT! Honestly, I was extremely hesitant because honestly, this guy doesn't look like he knows whats going on and seemed pretty drunk but his directions are sound. PM me if you have any specific questions.

Yeah honestly have no idea how that guy figured out that the float from a Chevy Trailblazer works for our GP's, Guess its the same sender unit. I suggest doing this while sober, less fuel everywhere.
