Ok, the other one I think that you are thinking about is called a compound setup. You see these setups in diesels a lot because of the size of the big turbo, the smaller turbo (the low pressure turbo) basically will build enough boost to help the larger turbo spool. Yes you will be able to get more power from a single turbo you may have a crazy amount of lag...

Most stock twin turbo cars either upgrade both turbos or do a big single turbo. If you tune a turbo right or get the right turbo you well have minimal turbo lag. As far as twin charging I don't really see the purpose. It sounds really expensive and would probably be insane to tune. Actually if someone could find me a setup where twin charging is better than either forced induction setup let me know.
Twin Charging is a great option for 3800 guys are using huge turbo's...the supercharger takes care of the low end and by the time the boost is running thin from the blower the snail is spooled. Twin Turbo's, sequential turbocharging or whatever you want to call it is WAY too much work on a 3800 powered car unless you have a all out drag car and DEEP pockets...or a G-Body (i.e. GN, Regal T-Type, etc.)

03-04 Cobra guys do it and make gobs of power. "Better" is a relative term, though.

Don't know if you guys caught this but this is Zoom's car in 2001 or so. It is a twincharged setup with a gen3 m90 and I think he had only a vs cam in the car.

That is a clear example, twincharging done right can be a great track setup.

There is a Guy on the regalgs.org board that goes by blackgs who is twin charged. If you have questions why not just ask him? Someone apparently tuned his car
