How long had the fuel rail on the SC motor been sitting? How old was the gas in it? In other words, did you unintentionally fire up an old fuel rail and shove jelly into the injectors?
The engine has 190,000 kilometers, it did sit for a while before I got it, but I took it apart, inspected and cleaned it all before putting it in my car. The only thing I didn't do was clean the injectors. I changed the o-rings first. I have new 42lb injectors and a tuned PCM coming from ZZP.
So I got my other fuel injector cleaning kit, used it and pretty sure all 6 injectors are working properly. I installed them back in the car and turned the key. It started right up and then stalled out. I checked the fuel rail and it is leaking at the pressure relief valve but there was pressure when I pushed the valve in, because fuel sprayed out. NO codes are showing up. Stuck again, gotta go back through everything again.
Could it be the crank sensor making it act up like this?
seems like its running out of fuel after its started. you can tighten that valve up, two small screw drivers in the hole and turn the base in some.
after you fix that little leak, start it, let it stall, leave the key to run, then go check the fuel pressure, if theres no pressure theres no fuel.
Okay I will try that, I also noticed my junction box up front has no bolts in it(in the pic) http://www.grandprixforums.com/attac...id=16397&stc=1I will look for the bolts and try that too. It almost stayed running for a cpl seconds....
some one must have been in there. id open it up make sure nothings burnt up or repaired poorly.
After inspecting the fuse box and wires, nothing was messed with. I think the reason the car won't start is because it doesn't have the fuel pump resistor and there isn't a relay in the fuse box. What do I do to fix that?
pic of the fuse box? you need to put a relay in place then.
And bend tab 85 before putting it in there.
nope. being your car came na i dont think you have a high speed fuel pump deal. and that trick ended in 01.
I will disable VATS, splice in a 2200 ohm resistor to the BCM .
So ScottyDoggs, I re-installed the original N/A PCM and the engine fired right up and ran. do I have to do another security re-learn on the other PCM?
thinking no, you shouldn't have too as long as it was working when it cane out the car.
The donor PCM worked because I started the other car up and it ran. The donor car was a Park Ave Ultra, my Grand Prix shouldn't have a problem using that PCM too.
in that case it need to be flashed with a bin for your car, if not the same, then you'll have to a security learn. but if your tuning it you can make the learn 10 seconds key to run and one time in the tune. makes life easy.
So basically, get a flashed PCM from Intense Racing for a 2003 Grand Prix GTP? Use a GTP vin number?
yes, the pcm has to be for made to work in your car, have them set the vin to match your car too.
unless you can find a 03 gtp in the junk yard, then you can use that pcm, will need the security learn. the vin wont match tho.
so the whole no start deal was using the pcm from a ultra, would have been good info in the first post really..
did you take the tranny too? or still using your na tranny? cause that will need a tuned pcm. a hd trany file will kill the na tranny pretty fast.
LOL, I thought I said it was a Park Ave I got the gear from but I checked and I didn't mention that most important detail first...... GEEEESH. So I will just use a junkyard GTP vin number, don't need vin to match.
