hi im looking for headers. and i want to know what everyone here thinks. i eventually plan on going down to a 3.1 pulley so what are my best options. ive herd everything from pace setter to speed daddy and even zzp. what are my best options. i kind of want speed daddy but herd they were junk and i kind of want zzp but its pricey. i have enough to buy the zzp but if speed daddy is just as good i mean why not.

speed daddy work fine, 80% of us here run them.

and you aint running a 3.1 pulley with out a load of other things first. a 3.4 is the wall till you add about a grand to your mod list.

then you'll never ever ever ever, run that small pulley lol ask me how i know.

if your plan is a top swap buy a tuner too. canned tunes suck on a top swap.

im sitting here telling you cant always have what you want.

im running a l36 bottom end, ported l67 heads, 1.95 yella terra roller rockers, a full size ic, ported lim, 42 lb injectors, sd headers. i own 5 pulleys, a 3.4, 3.2, 3,0, 2.8 and 2.6.

ive can run any one i want, its just how much timing you willing to cut to run it, the 3.2 was at 13 degrees wot, it ran a 14.3 best run of 3 runs.

now im on the 3.4 and 17º ish timing wot. off to the track soon to see if it breaks into the 13's.

in the end, your never gonna run that 3.1 pulley. not with out it knocking and blowing up. why you need a tuner to mess with stuff to make it work.

He could probably run a 3.0" pulley on a top swap with an xp cam and a full size intercooler, probably will also need some port work done on the heads and a good ported SC and lim. Better add at least 1000 dollars in parts if you want to run a 3.1

ask bob, aka crazyguy03. hes a bottom swap, better ported heads, huge ass cam, ic 3.2 pulley and stock timing lol

top swaps hate timing and boost, end of story.

boost means jack shait too, the boost # is the restriction your measuring, not added hp.

and im flowing rather well too if you ask me, 3.2 only had 9,5 psi of boost. the 3.4 8 psi. more boost is not a help.

now the 3.4 on my l67 engine the car came with made 10 psi without the ic or ported heads, so you do the ricer flow math there lol

only way i see you getting even close to a 3.1 is if you have e85 local. then you scrap the ic, buy a better fuel pump, a fp re wire, larger injectors and a tuner, cause you'll fing need it lol

A Ford 351 Windsor that was stroked to 410 it let loose due ****ty qc by dss racing

I had the motor built by them years ago

I Paid 9500 for a long block it had a junk lifter when I received it they wouldn't do anything about. 2k miles later it spins a crank barring due to a block oil passage. So I had a local shop turn crank replace barings re used the rods and pistons about another 8k miles and that happened I run widebands, egt, and data logger on both banks and tune was good about half way down the Track the car started missing/ knocking shut off trailed it home after looking around online there quite a few people with dss pistons that had let loose who data logs were good as well
Basically if a big name drag racer or a magazine they make sure that you get good parts

On Corral forums about about 2 years after I bought the engine there ended up being nonstop horror stories about there engines from people who's have rods snap cranks bend and pistons let loose

Corral got bought out now dss is a sporting vendor there and you ***** about them you get banned

I came close to it but I all ready had a dart block, vortech ysi, kooks header, afr 225 heads Trickflow R intake quick time bell housing I would be loosing so much money to sell and replace the stuff

If lsx would be the way it is now (price and known that a stock 5.3 could support 700hp)11 years ago I would have did it in Hart beat

I've gone to the 1/8th mile drag strip a few times this summer, and they have a top 10 list, and half the cars on the list are LS swaps with turbo's. the fastest one is a 6.0 LQ9 boosted with an On3Performance turbo in a 90ish mustang. it runs a flat 7 sec 1/8th mile.

part of me wants to build an LS swapped car/truck to compete, but another part of me doesn't want to be a conformist.
