Having trouble with a fuel pump on a 2000 Grand Prix. Daughter parked it in our driveway. I went to change the oil, got in it and it wouldn't start. I listened for the fuel pump to engage when I turned the key. No fuel pump. I changed the fuel pump relay and checked the mini-fuse. I replaced the fuel pump. Thought that maybe I had a bad fuel pump, so I exchanged it and installed the second pump. Still no fuel pump activation when I turn the key. I hear the relays activate. Checked for power to the pump. Power confirmed to the pump. I ran a separate fuel pump ground wire to the engine block to make sure the ground was good. Still not fuel pump activation.
I am stumped. Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions?
    Thanks

did the cel light come on at all? or had it been stalling at all in the recent past? i was getting a couple odd ball codes and no power to the pump, turned out to be a dirty plug to the icm harness, the fat square one laying on the lim near the coils. opened and closed it a few times and all was well again.

Thanks for the post. No, no light came on. Has been running fine all along. I put an OBDII scanner on it - no codes. I have power to the pump all the way back to the pump harness.

if you got power all the way back, maybe time for a new pump.

sounds like a bad pump if you got power to the pumps plug.

Thats what I am thinking, but this is the 2nd pump from Autozone. Delphi pumps. I bypassed the relay tonight so there is constant power to the pump. Still wont run. Ran a separate ground wire to the alternator mount. So I have a good ground. Confirmed powere on the B post of the plug. Pump should be running. Anybody familiar with the pump wiring. A is a black white wire, B is grey wire (pump power), C is purple, D is black (pump ground).

Thanks all for the input. As Scotty and Dealer said - I was thinking I had a bad pump also. What was bothering me was that this was the second new pump. I had installed one, didn't work, returned it and got another one, installed it and it didn't work. I had quadruple checked (even more) the wiring configuration on the new wiring harness provided with the pump. The old harness had A, B, C, and D posts. The new harness had A, B, C, and D posts. So that is how I wired it. Please note Delphi pumps do not provide a wiring guide with the pump. So after several hours of searching online last night for some information about wiring configuration for Delphi pumps, I found one image on google that showed the C and D posts switched. So I switched the C and D wires - and bingo - the pump works. Bottom line - if Delphi would have provided a wiring diagram with their pump it would have saved a warranty returned pump and me several hours of messing around troubleshooting / investigating.
Again thanks for all the posts.
About the crank sensor - yes I had a crank sensor go out on my Bonneville. Car would randomly die while driving down the road. I replaced the crank sensor - bingo - no more random dying.

most replacement pumps come with a new plug and pig tail to cut off the old one and put the new one on. maybe that was the issue.

either way glad its back and running.
