I've got a Porsche 944 that I'm trying to equip with an L36/67. I live in California where the engine swap rules are complex. My eventual goal is to have an L67 in the Porsche but first I need to rig it with an L36 from a Camaro/Firebird because I need a whole bunch of other parts off the donor car in order to pass California engine swap inspection. The donor car (V6 Camaro/Firebird) will donate: motor, ECU, 5spd trans, bell housing, clutch, pedal assembly, exhaust from headers to cats, fuel tank, fuel filler pipe and cap, evap cannister and all the engine accessories such as steering pump, A/C compressor, alt.
I'd be grateful if you guys would chime in and make sure that I understand this correctly - it is my belief that if I buy a '96/7/8 V6 Camaro or Firebird with a 5 spd manual transmission that the bell housing/clutch/flywheel will mate up to an L67 supercharged motor with just a few mods to convert the L67 flex plate over to the L36 style flywheel.
Thanks for any feedback.
