I love the interior of my GP, it's an '06. Since I bought the car I've had nightmares about what could happen to the dash with the heat I'm used to. It was 85 here last Friday..and the summers are often triple digits. So it's basically always hot here.

What do you clean your dash with to keep it conditioned? Stop it from cracking shrinking, etc? I started by using Armoral(spelling?) made for leather, it was all I had handy..and I bought a nice window cover. I'm looking into those little window covers you mount on the side so I can crack the windows a little during the day.

What else can I do and what products would you suggest to put on there to stop anything bad from happening.

I really don't want it coming apart or shrinking. From the looks of it, I don't think it'll crack, but I could see it seperating from shrinking.

i'd tell u 2 get a window cover. but u already said that. maybe get a tint strip on the top of the windshield to help while your driving?

tint all around would help 2! w/ the rest of your interior!

I'm told armour all is bad for your interior because it contains silicone, which will cause your dash to dry out and crack. it would be best to use something like meguiars that does not contain silicone

Use a no-silicone product, meguires has a pro-line, the #40 is the best VLR cleaner/protectant on the market. Also a dash cover will help.

thank you guys for the advice, I'll have to pick some up tomorrow. Does it specifically say on it somewhere when it doesn't contain silicone or do all meguilars products not use it?

im pretty sure that most of the meguiars products don't contain silicone. I have always used their NXT Generation Tech Protectant. Good Stuff

If you're looking for something quick and easy, the Meguiars wipes work great.

i use megs for just about everything...but for the dash, and all my rubber trims i use aerospace 303...it's sold in my area at "murrays discount auto",but you'll have to go online to find a retailer in your area...it's a little more expensive, but much cheaper than replacing dried out rubber and cracked plastics

I bought some Meg. for vinyl/plastic and it seems to work very well. It looks great and hopefully it'll take care of my dash. It definitely feels much better, not anywhere near as oily.

Is it bad to use just clean water on a rag. Like I get the rag rung out really well then wipe then use a dry rag. I only do this once in a while in between I use swiffer dusters.
