Gods honest truth, the best thing to use is a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, the original ones. DO NOT!!!!! use it on the paint but on plastic it will be fine and will take very little effort to remove the wax from the little pits and grooves of the plastic. Just a little water or even spray detailer and use light to medium pressure to rub the affected area and it will come out.

Not picking on you or anything Street Wolf, but a car wash will do little to get the wax out that is embedded into the plastic. Once it dries the only thing I have ever found to take it out was the Mr. Clean Magic eraser. Ive tried Mequires Back To Black on black trim, Ive tried tooth brushes, I even read somewhere that peanut butter would work and I can attest to the fact it does not.

On painted surfaces where there is little for wax to dig into a car wash would work okay, or buff it out, but with plastic its a whole new world.

we used to use the purple labeled armor all wipes to get the wax of plastic, works like a charm. its a cleaner/degreaser and has no silicone properties to it so it wont trash the paint or plastic moldings.

i use a cleaner from the doller store called awesome. it is basically the same thing i used when i worked for mercedes in the detail shop. it is all i use to detai my truck and gp. but, it is pretty strong. the white letters on the steering stalks will rub off if you use it there. i dilute some with a 4:1 ratio of water and cleaner and it works well awesome.

I've never used the awesome cleaner on my car, but I live in a fraternity and we use that stuff to clean our bathrooms...that stuff is great. but like you said, I would dilute it if your using on your car.

White art erasers work well. They have to be the white ones though.

For textured plastics, tooth brushes of assorted stiffness dipped in wax and grease remover. The wax and grease remover should soften everything up so that the toothbrush will be able to lift the wax off. When thats all gone, use your preferred rubber/plastic conditioner. I've tried many other methods and magic products, but this seems to have worked best for me. It may take time so be patient.

But as always, test the wax remover in a not so obvious location to make sure you wont do more harm than good.

If all else fails, real plastic dye in a bottle.

I have used Peanut butter with great results, rub it on with cloth towel and let it sit for 10 minutes remove it with clean cloth not your mouth. It will remove the wax and also bring back any dull spots on the black trim pieces.
