I do degreaser first in certain spots them wash with water. Then I use black magic tire foam. Let it sit only a few minutes then wipe everything down. Ive done this for the last 5 years with my ram, trans am and gtp and always get complimented on how it looks so good.

I use Pledge dusting spray. It works really well. It really doesn't give a shine but cleans it up and helps keep dust away.

cover up alternator and anything electrical that is exposed. I wrap stuff in plastic bags.

    degreaser first
maybe some soap after with some scrubbing. use a brush
    rinse
let dry, hand dry as much as you can
spray tireshine on the black parts and plastic parts. I use Stoners Trim Shine, which is not tire shine.

got a question and a stoy here, Has anyone heard of or used some type of steam cleaner to clean their engine bay? Cause Ive Heard thats the way to go because the water will evaporate before it damages electronics and hot water cleans about anything. Also the one time I washed my engine bay with water "not with just some sray cleaner and a towel cause I do that all the time" All kinds of stuff found its way out of hiding spots and on to my drive way including a little red fuse. Om assuming it must have been dropped in there by someone working on it before I bought it kind of makes me wonder what were they trying to fix? lol

    I use tire foam.

It cleans and degreases at the same time as making everything shine...spray...let sit for like 5 minutes or so...then wipe with a towel you dont care about. Instant sexy engine bay.

tire foam is tooo shiny IMO, I use aerospace protectant on most of the plastics, and then some interior foam with SPF protection on the hoses.

ya since my post ive found a better way.

we get this oil eater cleaner degreaser at work and i found that to work the best. i just spray everything with water, (using a spray bottle) spray the engine bay with the Oil Eater, wash it with the wheel wash mit, and then let it idle and reach opperating temp while i wash the rest of the car.

letting the engine dry itself seems to like half steam clean it, ive had great results and havent had any problems with not covering it up yet
