If anyone parks underneath an oak tree everyday can understand this, sucks that it rains like everyday here to in Florida. The rain washes out some crap from the trees that leaves brown spots ALL over my car, they show up real well since it's silver. They're a pain in the ass to wash off with a sponge, the only real way is to use some sort of claybar, that's a lot of work to just wash the car. Anyone have this problem and come up with an easy way to clean these off?

Tree sap too...figure it sucks man...gotta use that claybar...but have you tried Liquid Clay Bar? Might help cut down the time of the wash...

all tree sap is not created equal! sometimes you can use mineral spirits to dissolve it. do not apply in direct sun or to a warm car. Never scrub your paint you WILL induce marring.

Methyl hydrate removes sap easily, just wax the area afterwards.

It's not sap, it's some sort of other crap that is really hard to wash off. It will come off with just a sponge/rag but it takes a lot of scrubbing, especially after being on the car for a week.

dried concrete will come off with scrubbing too, you want to dissolve the bonded contaminant first then do as little as possible rubbing.

I heard a friend of mine mention that they take off bugs real well (which they do) so I figured I'd try it and it worked awesome. I've never tried it on anything but I'll remember this trick for the next lovebug season.

I washed the car the regular way first and washed after the dryer sheet. Whatever the sheet has in it is like soap when they get wet, washed that stuff off. I guess that they work because they are slightly abrasive, not near enough to scratch the paint, works just like claybar pretty much.

Get all of it off the paint. I would use tire and wheel cleaner mixed in with some good car wash soap. Bug and tar remover or whatever you have. Get it clean and put one heck of a coat of wax, maybe 2 coats. It should come off easier next time with a heavy wax job on the car. If you already have your car waxed, and it still comes off that hard.......don't park under the tree, but if that's the only place to park, then cut the motherf****n tree down. hahahaha You just don't want to use heavy solvents like wheel cleaner all the time to get your ride clean. It will eventually degrade your paint if you keep using it. Clay bars work good but put very very fine scratches in your clearcoat. Same thing, use it as little as possible. Wax is the best thing I know to do to make it not stick to your car as bad.
