Hey guys. So last week I tinted my tails with vht nightshade and clearcoated them. They look great for what it is. Problem is I'm not satisfied yet. I need to wet sand and buff them to get the shine I want. But I don't have access to a da. Is it possible to buff out the lights without one? Can I just do it by hand?

i buffed them by hand, but then i bought a cordless drill accessory that is a buffer, and it worked a lot better...get some 3m rubbing compound, and go to town!

Well yeah. Could I use something else? I figured its such a small area I might be able to do it by hand. Everywhere I've read that's what they use. An orbital buffer

Cool. Is that the only thing I need? Just the rubbing compound? I know withe meguiars u have to use medium cut compound and then fine cut compound then u need to use their polish. How did u do urs minichopper?

well i havent actually done my tails yet, but when i polish lights i go 800 to 1500 to 2000 grit wet sand, then go with the rubbing compound of choice and do it a couple times till they are crystal clear. IDK if it would be any different for the tails or not.

i think i used the meguiars stuff, they are all gonna be pretty much the same. I like how you can go from coarse to fine with them though

    use 1500 - 2000..

If you have 2500 or 3000 use that to finish them off but I dont know if they hit the market yet..
