I have stock chrome gtp rims and the chrome is actually peeling off on the inside of the rim. How do I keep it from peeling any further?

If it is a special edition or 40th anniversary then they will be chrome. But if it is a regular GTP, then they are probably polished.

How many spokes do the wheels have? Either 5(tq stars) or a lot more(sp edition or 40th).

5 spokes they are angled so I am guessing they are the torque stars. Either way the rims are almost junk now I brought it in to get new tires and they showed me the inside of the rim and it is coroding away and not holding a seal well at all. Anbody know a good aftermarket rim for it.

Someone was selling black powder coated tq stars not too long ago they looked real good. I think he was asking $350 but he did come down in price to around $320 I think.
Look in the for sale section they still might be there.

He is probably talking about these rims.

I have heard people complain about these rims peeling, but Im not sure what to do about it. I was planning on getting a set for my 01, but every time I see a set on craigslist they mention they are peeled. Maybe it has to do with road salt??

Those are the rims I have. I don't know if it has to do with the road salt cause it has only been through one winter it's whole life and I took it through a car was at least once a week to keep the salt off. But they are very corroded on the inside which makes them leak slowly so they just aren't worth saving too bad cause they do look sweet on my gtp.

Sorry, i dont mean to hack this thead but if anyone is interested in a set of those rims i have a chrome set with some peeling on the backside of the rim with 75%tread tires...or i have an aluminum finished set with 80%+ tread. Both sets have NO curbrash and are in very good shape. PM me if interested. Sorry again for hacking lol.
