My black 98' has become very scratched up lately
Just curious if there's any way to get them out aside from a paintjob?

It depends on how deep they are. If they are only in the clear coat waxing and buffing might take them out. If they are into the paint try some touch up and if there are too many too touch up you will have to repaint the panels.

I had a few scratches on my car and I got some touchup paint and touched them up. It doesn't look 100% but it looks better than having scratches.

Deaper scratches can be elminated after completey cleaning the car. Removing all wax, clay bar the car to remove any dirt/tree sap/ crud on paint. To help someimte 2000 grit sand paper can be used wet to not of the edges and minimize the apperance of deaper scratches, the a good buffing and wax will hide MOST of it.
